Our comfortable fleet is made of 4 fully available vans “Vito Mercedes Benz”, each one able to sit 8 passengers guaranteeing comfort and safety.
We like caring about the little ones setting up safety seats upon request since this is the only way to protect your young children.
If you prefer to dedicate a short time to your shore excursion and you have already seen Pisa and Florence, we suggest a tour that could be very surprising in the less known city of Livorno.
An obligatory destination for people who want to discover the authenticity and veracity of the population of Livorno is the market of the victuals, also known as covered or central market, a place where you can meet the local inhabitants, hear the local dialect and smell the perfumes of tradition. Just a few people know that this is the biggest covered market in Europe in a large and imposing building in neoclassical style, mirrored by the nearby Medicean canal, made of a massive central hall along with two smaller spaces, able to host up to 200 stands all together.
Another very evocative attraction in Livorno is the unique Terrazza Mascagni, a stunning balustrade of a myriad of little marble columns overlooking the coastline and bordering an impressive black and white chess paving. The setting inspired many commercial campaigns and it is an ideal place for relaxed walks surrounded by the smell of the sea and heated by the sun any time of the day and any season of the year, with the unique frame of Livorno.
For enthusiasts of art and painting we can advise Villa Mimbelli, a 19th century mansion where Museo Civico Fattori is hosted. The museum is dedicated to Giovanni Fattori and a to a number of masterpieces of the Tuscan Macchiaioli movement, including Telemaco Signorini, Silvestro Lega and Giovanni Boldini.
If you have time and would like to spend a full day off your ship instead, we will take you to explore art towns like Pisa, where you will admire the marvelous “Miracles’ field”, as the poet Gabriele d’Annunzio firstly called it. You will be amazed by the whole complex, listed in the UNESCO sites, not only for the leaning tower but also for other superb architectural works in the cathedral, the baptistery and the monumental cemetery. Right here countless masterpieces are exhibited, the most famous of which is the fresco called “Triumph of Death” painted by Buffalmacco.
After Pisa, a visit to Florence or Lucca is another must.
The historical town of Lucca is a very peaceful area totally surrounded by ancient fortifications and full of charming squares and churches. An occasion also for a great meal in a local typical restaurant.
In Florence you will see Piazza della Signoria, a true open air museum, with sculptures like David by Michelangelo right in front of Palazzo Vecchio (the original statue is in the nearby Galleria dell’Accademia), Hercules and Caco by Bandinelli, Neptune by Ammannati and the equestrian statue of Duke Cosimo I by Gianbologna. In the same square is also the “Loggia dei Lanzi” where you can admire the “Ratto delle Sabine” by Giambologna and the statue of Perseus with the head of Medusa, bu Cellini.
A walk for shopping in the boutique shops of the most famous Italian fashion brands in the street of the downtown, a photo in Ponte Vecchio and a delicious fiorentina steak in a typical inn paired to a glass of great red wine complete the frame.
